About the SoCalCGP Awards

Distinguished Service Award

The SoCalCGP Distinguished Service Award honors individuals for outstanding accomplishments in charitable gift planning. Their achievements reflect SoCalCGP’s core values of inclusion, community, integrity, education, and leadership, demonstrated through their professional work, leadership, and volunteer contributions. Established in 2012, this annual award recognizes those who have made a lasting, positive impact on the field of charitable planning. Criteria for selection include significant contributions to the field, at least a decade of service, and optional SoCalCGP membership. 

Rising Star Award

The SoCalCGP Rising Star Award celebrates an emerging professional in charitable gift planning. Established in 2024, this annual award recognizes individuals who demonstrate initiative, innovation, and leadership, and who are actively contributing to and supporting the gift planning field.

Their work reflects SoCalCGP’s core values of inclusion, community, integrity, education, and leadership, and highlights a strong commitment to professional growth and service. Selection criteria include demonstrated success in charitable gift planning, leadership potential, between three and ten years of service in the field, and engagement with SoCalCGP or other professional organizations.

Recipients are recognized at the Western Regional Planned Giving Conference and featured on SoCalCGP’s website and associated media.
