Virtual Mini Roundtable 08.13.20
Thursday, August 13, 2020, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT
Category: Events

Dear colleagues,

At our General Meetings of the Los Angeles Council of Charitable Gift Planners, the Mini Roundtable session provides an opportunity for newer members of our field to brainstorm, network, and learn together with LACGP mentors and peers who seek a deeper understanding of gift planning. Participants are encouraged to bring a question so that the group, together, can generate an array of helpful answers. In this period of uncertainty, it seems this type of opportunity is more valuable than ever, so LACGP in partnership with the Mini Roundtable moderator, Jay Harvill, will be hosting a series of Virtual Mini Roundtable sessions.

Our Mini Roundtables are designed to be a dialog between seasoned professionals and those who are new to the field of gift planning or who have particular issues they are working through which the insight of peers can help them work through.

Virtual Mini Roundtable Topic for August 13:

Access to board members and executive staff. How and when do you work within the system/company culture to establish those relationships?

In this session, we’ll be focusing on issues around working with boards and executive staff. What are strategies around navigating the system/company culture to establish relationships with leadership? What are ideas for engaging members of your planned & major gifts committees or executive staff? How do you communicate the value proposition of long-range benefits of gift planning? As always, should participants have any questions not related to the designated topic, we will allow time to help consult and discuss your question.

This session is a free resource to the gift planning community from LACGP.

It is our hope that the Virtual Mini Roundtable can become a weekly engagement point for members of LACGP while this country adapts to responding to COVID-19 and the changes to the way we work with donors. We hope you'll join us for this session and look forward to future topics.

Note, we will limit participation to the first 15 people to allow for a conversation to take place; in the event we have more registrants, we will open a second session for additional participants.
