Title: Philanthropy’s Other Motivations:
How to End Donor Fatigue
Program
Description:
You’ve heard the term Donor Fatigue – donors are overwhelmed
by charitable needs and simply drop out of giving. Too often fundraisers
site this as a reason for losing a major donor. The reality is that
there is no such thing as Donor Fatigue. Donors quit giving because
they become dissatisfied with giving. Donors become dissatisfied
because the fundraiser, and sometimes the donors themselves, do not
understand the donor’s expectations for giving.
Our session will focus on key skills and several assessments that will help you
understand, and when necessary, explain to your donor their expectations for
give to your organization. More importantly, you will hear of ways to meet your
donor’s specific expectation and strengthen their commitment to your organization.
Finally, we will discuss the creative thinking about your organization’s
programs to develop an inoculation for donor dissatisfaction.

Title: More than just innovation, radical innovation and ruthless compassion
Program
Description:
A mentor of mine once said that the best way to transform
the board of a nonprofit was to “Bring blasting caps
and dynamite!” There has turned out to be a lot truth
in that for me and the work I’ve done in organizations.
Along the way I’ve learned that we need to develop
a ruthless compassion for the organization, its mission and
the people involved. That is equally true of what it takes
to drive real innovation, the kind that alters life as we
know it and leaves everyone staring into a new, unexpected
future. Through my work at the X PRIZE, Social Venture Partners
and my past career at Microsoft I will share hard won insights
and experience on what it takes to drive meaningful innovation.
